Dakotah Tonderum is a law student at the University of St. Thomas School of Law in Minneapolis, Minnesota. During his first year of law school, he earned dean’s list honors and finished in the top 17% of his class. Raised in Rapid City, Dakotah is happy to return for the summer to gain practical experience at Goodsell & Oviatt, LLP, while spending time in the Black Hills with friends and family in the area.
Dakotah attended Purdue University Global, earning both an Associate of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Legal Support and Services. He graduated with summa cum laude honors, finishing both with a 4.0 GPA and earning the Book Award from the Honorable James J. Kent, which is presented to a student who exemplifies distinguished skills in legal research and writing.
Prior to attending law school, Dakotah spent five years working as a legal assistant, building a foundational understanding of the legal profession and developing skills in case management and client service. During this time, he gained experience supporting attorneys in the areas of estate planning, business, and related legal matters. He is happy and eager to bring these experiences back to the Black Hills and build on this foundation in the place he calls home, while learning from the experienced team at Goodsell & Oviatt, LLP.
